We’re going to call it providence and not procrastination that I fell behind on blogging the week of ‘To Be or Not To Be’, cool?

Providence because this was just before the global pandemic arrived in our neighborhood and suddenly the options of “To be” and “Not To Be” became more than just Prince Hamlet’s predicament.

After the leadership team deliberated and thought about how to proceed for a week, we made the difficult decision to cancel our performances slated for May and June of 2020.

The Law of the Draw and the magic we make in the room, simply wouldn’t translate to a digital performance.

Upon meeting with the ensemble and deciding how to proceed, we have now divided into subgroups that will meet online throughout our sheltering in place, focusing on Writing, Scene Study, and Devising New Works.

Mercury (or Quicksilver by another name) is simultaneously solid and liquid; flexibility within the form is part of our foundation.

We are no strangers to building the ship at sea and not knowing what we’re working with until we get there. It’s no different as we adjust to digital collaboration.

We hope y’all are staying safe and well in these strange times and finding ways to stay peaceful and creative!
